Margaret Mum, Nan, Great Nanan 30-4-1949 to 26-8-2014. You have battled hard and long and finally you had to say goodbye. We will never know the pain that you went through, but you always managed a cheeky smile. You have touched the lives of many people through your selfless acts and generosity and always tried to put everyone before yourself. And an inspiration to many. You were born in Portsmouth and unfortunately were taking into care, you attended a boarding school and I thought we would share a little tale you told us. "I visited the matron with a sore foot, they gave me throat pastilles and said there was nothing wrong and sent me away. I was taken to the Headmaster office and told that I shouldn't be wasting matrons time and had to apologize to the whole school. when I was eventually taken to the doctors I was admitted to hospital for an operation on my foot" but they never apologised to me.( she always chuckles about this). You joined the RAF and thoroughly enjoyed your time there, and have told us a few tales about this. You married and had as you always fondly called the 3 J's Jason, James and Jenny. Unfortunately your marriage ended but you have always loved our Dad. We had our ups and downs but know that you always loved us and we loved you too. Eventually you went to Stocksbridge were you made a new and fabulous group of friends and joined in as many activities as you could. You attended church at St Ann's when possible. From here you moved to Sheffield and made a great friend in Lousia , who I personally want to thank as she put herself above and beyond to help you. You always fought your illness but eventually you had to go to St Lukes Hospice, some of the kindest, caring people I have had the pleasure to meet. They were there when you needed them and always understood and never judged. They even took you for a cigarette in your bed. I am sure that they will remember you for always saying SORRY. We hope that you all will help to keep her memories alive by posting your thoughts on here with us and share your tales of joy. We Love You Mum and know you will always be watching over us.

Margaret you will be an inspiration to all for many years to come with your huge heart of gold, whose warmth, courage and unbounded empathy prevailed through all adversity.

Thoughts

You moved to lovely ramsgate opposite me, where you brought up your 3 children. I always enjoyed coming over for a chat and a cup of tea. Your always had the most beautiful stick and wools, we always shared knitting pattern, cabbage dolls and crochet. When you moved away I lost a great friend. You would always remember my wendys birthday every year. When I knew something was wrong I tried to find you, but sadly we had news from james that you had passed away. Throughout I knew you so well and although you suffered with pain you always had a lovely smile on your face. Always in my thoughts and heart my friend. Your friend... Jean Woodland xx
