Nick Ainsworth
1945 - 2024 | Sheffield
Our Dad, our Pops, Popa, Popsicles, Big Nick, Nick Nack, Ains, Fess, the man with many "nick"names fell asleep for the last time on 26th January 2024. What an absolute legend, loved by everyone, a true gentleman, funny to the core and always the life and soul of the party.Life is just never going to be the same without him. What an amazing man and a true inspiration, loved by everyone so much.St Lukes has become our second home these last 23 days, we cannot thank the doctors, nurses and staff enough. They are truly amazing human beings and he was so settled there. The care and compassion they showed him and the whole family was amazing. Please feel free to share any photos or memories. xx

Your friendship and humour will be missed. From years ago Fridays nights in the Castle when we brought our own food until very recently with only Yourself Andy and I talked over a pint or two about old times and then put the world to rights. RIP

Nick, my big bro, my childhood buddy, always up for a laugh. He was taken too soon and too suddenly but we will always be grateful for the superb care he received in his last days at St Luke’s.
Donated by Carolyn Walker - 03/02/2024
Nick was one of a kind. A true friend who, even during the toughest of times, managed to say something hilarious to make us laugh. He did so for most of my life. He was one of the most important people in my life and our lives were richer for having known him. We will miss him enormously but will carry him in our memories forever. Nick - Lee and I will think of you every time we have a "growler".
